CT BASS FEDERATION  MEETING MINUTES
January 26, 2006

The President called the meeting to order at 7:45 pm. 

The following clubs were absent:Litchfield County B/M, Nor’east and Tournament Force

Motion was made and second to close the December meeting - ACCEPTED

Approval of previous minutes: ACCEPTED  

Correspondence

Joe Rackiewicz received correspondence from BASS a refund check for $12.00 Donation to Scholarship fund.

Received a Thank you letter from the Red Cross for the $500.00 donation to Katrina victims

Received a letter from the Coalition of CT Sportsman for $1000.00

Received incorporation paperwork for Officers to fill out – postponed until Feb. meeting

Received $250.00 each from Pennzoil and Evan Williams for advertisement – issued by TBF

We have received our promotional certificate from Lowrance 

Treasurer’s Report

Current balance is as follows: Money market $12,305.49

                                                                             $  1,322.41

                                                                             $13,627.90

Scholarship Committee

Balance at this time is: $10,375.34 

Citizen Advisory Committee

Jim Cyr reported that Inland fisheries stated that trout production is on target.

Burlington Hatchery is raising tiger trout (brook & brown trout cross) 

Audit Committee

Audit committee is in place: Ken Greenhill, Jean Reis, Kevin Lavender, Jack Vinyard & Matt DeSimone to serve as committee members 

State Team Report

Joe stated that the 2006 team meeting is set for 1/28/06

All team members will be signing the contracts at the first meeting

Reminder to the team members that they must work 4 hours min. at the fishing expo show. 

Banquet Committee

A final report will be given at the December meeting.

Environmental Committee

See Citizen Advisory Report 

Youth Committee

Both Jr. Bass contestants will be at the JWC prior to the Bassmasters classic

Terry requested $1000.00 for each child for expenses, Terry was requested to bring this item up under new business. 

Boating Advisory Committee

No Report 

Tournament Committee

Frank Dowds reminded everyone that there will be a tournament committee meeting at Sylvia Morris’s house on 1/29/06 

Raffle Committee

The raffle is on hold until after the meeting on the 23rd of Feb. This will be revisited at the meeting after the club declare a direction of affiliation. 

Fishing Advisory Committee

No Report 

Nominating Committee

There have been no nominations for Secretary as of this date. 

Financial Committee

No report 

Motion and 2nd to accept Committee reports as reported – Accepted 

Old Business

Excused absences for the month of December: NONE 

Joe Rackiewicz informed the floor that at the Feb. meeting, that if there is no Secretary for the meeting, someone will be appointed from the floor for the meeting.

Federation dues are due – Alan Guite & Joe Rackiewicz agreed that all checks received will not be deposited until after each club has declared. 

New Business

Bass dues will be refunded to anyone that is going to the TBF

Joe discussed the proposed budget (no change)

Joe requested a motion from the floor to have a roll call vote to declare BASS or TBF

Any club wishing to declare early can do so.

Terry Baksay made a motion for $2000.00 for the JWC competition in Florida.

The motion was changed for reimbursement of expenses for 2 children & 2 adults.

The floor agreed that there is a need to recontrol the website 

Upon the close of new business, Joe introduced Mike Dunkerley of TBF to do a Q&A with us.

Is there a National Federation Director

Not at this time

Where are the financial statements for TBF?

Joe Rackiewicz has them in his possession

Was there a predetermined direction prior to the final deal?

No

Can you be in TBF without signing up for FLW?

Yes, once you’re headed to the State Championship, individual must sign with FLW

What is TBF?

TBF is an organization for the federation that was incorporated in 2002

What about the BassFan deal?

Bassfan is there to with the media end (daily updates) for the federations, along with opportunities to compete in the Skeeter/Bassfan tournament

Where is the advantage to TBF?

Every contract has a dollar valve
