CT BASS FEDERATION
MEETING MINUTES
February 23, 2006
The President called the meeting to order at 7:45 pm.
The following clubs were absent:

Nomination and acceptance of new Secretary
– Jack Vinyard
Correspondence:
Joe Rackiewicz received a letter from Gary Jones of BASS which
included the Letter of Authority to use BASS / ESPN logos. To be
signed by the new president.
Joe received information from SKEETER that they will honor the 2005
boat deal.
Joe received the Pennzoil and Evan Williams sponsorship checks.
Treasurer’s
Report:
As of January 31, 2006 there were the following amounts in the
accounts:
Checking - $4,769.31
Money Market Acct - $12,315.94
Scholarship Checking and Money Market - $10,384.15
Joe deposited a check for $500 that he received while down at the
Nationals for ads placed by Pennzoil and Evan Williams in the
Tieline in 2005.
There are still outstanding checks and $1,000 was transferred from
the Money Market account to the Checking account to cover checks
written for expense reports and the credit card.
Scholarship
Report:
Applications for 2006 are available and posted on the
website

Citizen Advisory / Environmental Report:

Candlewood Lake Authority Report:
Rich Suhie reported that the attempt to require all boats to have a
“Lake Use Sticker” is on hold and may be defeated because it would
have to be approved by the State Legislature.
Lake Clean up is May 13th.

Audit Committee:
The committee will meet to start the audit on March 5th.
The Committee consists of – Kevin Lavender, Matt Desimone, Jean Ries,
Jack Vinyard and Ken Greenhill.

The Casting Kids event held at the Hartford show had 155 kids
participate. Chris Bielert has all the info and will turn it over
to Terry when he returns from Florida.
Tournament
Committee:
Held meeting on January 29th. Waiting on
TBF vs BASS decision to put out 06 trail application. Change to
Tournament Rules – Grievance procedures clarified / established.
Recommendation made for some type of penalty for the individual
(Boater) that does not show up for day two of the Two Day and leaves
his paired Non Boater stranded.
State Team
Report:
Sponsor agreements handed out to team members, not
yet signed.
Raffle Report:
Mohawk Valley Bassmasters will sponsor the 2006
raffle.
Old Business:
Motion made and second for The Scholarship funds to remain with the
CBFN regardless of the TBF – BASS Vote. 30 Yes 5 No
Motion made and second to split CBFN funds by percent of clubs going
either TBF and BASS. 7 Yes

Motion made and second to take vote on the decision for the CBFN to
affiliate with BASS or TBF 31 Stay with BASS
(2 Abstained) 4 Go with TBF
New Business
After The Decision for the CBFN to affiliate with BASS the executive
board – President Joe Rackiewicz, Vice President Joe Marenzana and
Treasurer Jerry Nyarady resigned their positions.
We need nominations for President, Vice President and
Treasurer at the March meeting.
Also by the decision to affiliate with BASS the Connecticut BASS Federation Nation (CBFN) must make a name change to the Connecticut BASS Federation Nation Nation (CBFNN).
Note the March meeting will be held on Thursday March 23rd at the
Church.
A motion was made and second to adjourn the meeting
at 9:30 pm
Secretary note
- All Committee Reports need to be submitted in writing prior to
the meeting.
