About Us...

Connecticut BASS FederationWelcome to the Connecticut B.A.S.S. Federation Nation (CBFN), founded in 1974 by a group of people whom shared a common passion for fishing. As the years passed the membership has grown to more than 400 members. At the present there are thirty three clubs comprised of men, women and children whom take an active interest in fishing and protecting our resources.
We encourage and promote “Catch and Release” fishing and are dedicated to youth and the environment. Each year the CBFN awards four scholarships to member families to help defray the rising costs of college tuition. The CBFN is also proud to support the Bryan Kerchal Memorial Fund and Riverfront Recapture.

The CBFN hosts a trail of fishing events each year, these events are open to all our members. Our top two finishers advance to the state team, along with the winner of the Bryan Kerchal Tournament of Champions (Mr. Bass). At the end of the year we hold a state championship and the top 10 finishers move on to fill our remaining spots on the state team.

The state team competes in a regional tournament against 7 other states and Canada for a week (all expense paid). The winner advances to the BASS Federation Nation National Tournament (all expense paid) and if they are the winner of their division they move onto the Citgo Bassmaster Classic. Please feel free to view our site and we welcome you to our organization.

To become a member of our federation one must either join an existing club (check the club listing page) or form a new club with a minimum of 6 members. By doing either it will automatically enroll you in the federation and entitle you to all our member benefits and protect you under the BASS insurance coverage. Most clubs in the state are actively recruiting new members at this time and welcome new faces enthusiastically.
